Rob Gutteridge

Born in England, Rob is an Australian artist based in Adelaide. With a Diploma of Fine Art (Painting), Graduate Diploma of Adult Education, and Graduate Diploma Visual Arts, Rob has lectured in tertiary education throughout South Australia. Awards include scholarships to the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, USA; Atelier Artistique Internationale de Seguret, Provence, France; a study tour of art museums in Europe and USA. From 2007-2011 he was Head of Drawing and Printmaking at the Adelaide Central School of Art. Having first enrolled at the South Australian School of Art in 1972, the exhibition “Enigma Variations” at Rimbun Dahan, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia marks 40 years in the visual arts. He has held 23 solo exhibitions and participated in 60 group exhibitions. In 2011 he was the Australian artist selected for the 2011 Malaysia/Australia Visual Arts Residency at Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia. In January 2012 he was artist in residence at Redgate Gallery, Beijing, China. His works are in the public collections of the Art Gallery of South Australia, South Australian Museum of Natural History, Artbank (Australia); and private collections in Australia, France, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, England, Malaysia, Singapore, China, and the USA.
