Deidre But-Husaim

Deidre But-Husaim is a visual artist based in Adelaide, oil painting is at the core of her art practice. She has held several solo exhibitions in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Her work has been included in numerous group exhibitions.

But-Husaim has twice been a selected finalist in both the Doug Moran Portrait Prize and the Portia Geach Memorial Award and has also been a finalist in the Sulman Prize, Sunshine Coast Art Prize, Albany Art Prize and the Archibald Prize.
Her work has been curated into institutional exhibitions and is regularly featured in the art press, including in-depth profiles on her practice in Australian Art Review and Art Collector magazines.  Deidre co-founded Hedgemaze artist studios in Port Adelaide (2004 – 2009) and The Incinerator studios in Thebarton (2009 – present), this current studio was designed by Walter Burley Griffin in 1932.
