Annalise Rees

Graduating in 2004, Annalise completed a Bachelor of Visual Art with Honours, majoring in sculpture from Adelaide Central School of Art through the scholarship program. In 2005 Annalise was the recipient of the Adelaide Bank Award for the most outstanding arts graduate in South Australia.

Exhibiting frequently in Australia, Annalise has also exhibited and been an artist in residence in Tokyo, New Delhi, Sydney, Hill End and Darwin. She has received several grants from both the Australia Council and Arts SA, including an Arts SA Emerging Artist Mentorship with Sydney based sound installation artist Dr Nigel Helyer and has worked with the International Cartographic Association in Montreal, Canada.

Annalise’s work is largely drawing and installation based, exploring ideas about place and identity. Her work ranges from intimate gallery size works, to permanent and ephemeral large scale sculptures and public art inspired by and referencing architecture and the built environment.
