It is the philosophy of Adelaide Central School of Art that all staff are professionally active in the field in which they teach. This means that teachers at Adelaide Central School of Art are practising artists who exhibit frequently, comprehend current issues in visual arts and have relevant expertise to hand on to students. Likewise, the School's administration staff are employed for their expertise in their area of responsibility.

The School is committed to inviting artists and academics from outside the academic staff who add to the richness of discourse in contemporary art practice. We have previously hosted Masterclasses presented by Christopher Orchard, Godwin Bradbeer, Anna Platten and Chelsea Lehmann, and hosted visiting academics Terence Maloon, Aida Tomescu and Dr Barbara Bolt.
