Lucy Turnbull, a former Drawing Lecturer at the School, also participated in the Marathon. She spoke highly of her experience and its impact on her practice: “I loved the intensity of making huge drawings from observation all day, almost every day for two weeks. I learnt about making interesting artwork, about looking, understanding and seeing clearly. I was excited by the challenges and the rigorous way of working that the NYSS encouraged.”

“International experiences are vital to the professional development of an artists’ practice and can provide significant career opportunities,” says Ingrid Kellenbach. “We are very pleased to support these graduates through our Graduate Support Program.”
